The Central Student Government organized a Basic Orientation and Leadership Training Seminar last June 15, 18-19, 2016 at various locations inside and outside the school. With the theme: Igniting the Spark of Service & Camaderie, the activity aims to serve as a training ground for the new volunteers of the organization before they undergo their respective work for the school year.
The first day (June 15) gathered the participants from the different units of CSG and were given inputs on student governance and service by former CSG officers Princess Kimberly Ubay-ubay, Mario Neri and Joseph Roldan Tagalog. During the weekend (June 18-19), the participants built rapport with each other at Mapawa Nature Park through the many team-building activities prepared by the facilitators.
Earlier, the CSG also conducted a planning session to craft and finalize its Strategic Plan for the year. Anchored on the vision of the XU-CSG to be, by 2034, the premier student government in Southeast Asia grounded on the principles of Ignatian Leadership, the bottom-up planning involved various stakeholders. The planning session ended with a "budget battle royale", where the different CSG Departments defended their requested budgets.
